Beitar Jerusalem Set to Release Two Players Ahead of New Season

Beitar Jerusalem is preparing to finalize its squad before the upcoming league season, aiming to strengthen the team with a foreign midfielder and Ori Azou from Maccabi Tel Aviv. The club is also planning to release two players by the end of the transfer window. After loaning out Ilai Hajaj to Bnei Sakhnin, Beitar Jerusalem intends to part ways with defender Ori Dahan and midfielder Ravid Abergil.

Ori Dahan, 26, joined Beitar Jerusalem from Maccabi Haifa four seasons ago and was a leading defender for most of his tenure. However, his role diminished significantly last season, culminating in his exclusion from the European competition roster this summer. Dahan is dissatisfied with his current status and is exploring options abroad, while also holding several offers from Israeli clubs. Beitar Jerusalem is willing to release him if a club agrees to cover his full salary.

Ravid Abergil, a young midfielder not in the club's plans, was loaned to Hapoel Ramat Gan last season and helped them achieve promotion to the Premier League. Although several National League teams are interested in him, Abergil prefers to wait for an offer from a Premier League club. The club is leveraging the fact that it does not play in the opening round to complete its roster adjustments early.
