Beitar Jerusalem Set to Release Two Players Ahead of New Season
Beitar Jerusalem is finalizing its squad ahead of the upcoming league season, aiming to strengthen the team with a foreign midfielder and Ori Azou from Maccabi Tel Aviv. The club is also planning to release two players before the transfer window closes, taking advantage of not playing in the opening round to complete roster changes.
The two players expected to depart are defender Ori Dahan and midfielder Ravid Abergil. Dahan, 26, joined Beitar from Maccabi Haifa four seasons ago and was a key defender for much of his tenure. However, his role diminished significantly last season, culminating in him not being registered for European matches this summer. Dissatisfied with his status, Dahan is exploring options abroad and has received several offers from Israeli clubs. Beitar is willing to let him go if a club agrees to cover his full salary.
Ravid Abergil, a young midfielder, was loaned to Hapoel Ramat Gan last season, helping them gain promotion to the Premier League. Although several second-tier teams have shown interest, Abergil prefers to wait for an opportunity with a Premier League club. Earlier, Ilay Hajaj, who was not in the club's plans, was loaned to Bnei Sakhnin. Beitar Jerusalem continues to adjust its roster as it prepares for the new season.
