Thousands Attend Central Selichot Prayer at Western Wall with Israeli Hostage Survivors

On Saturday night, thousands gathered at the Western Wall plaza in Jerusalem for the central Selichot prayer event, which featured a special thanksgiving prayer led by Western Wall Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitch alongside Israeli hostage survivors recently returned to Israel. The event was attended by Rabbi Rabinovitch, Mordechai (Soli) Eliav, CEO of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, and survivors Noa Argamani, Itay Regev, Omer Shem Tov, Bar Kuperstein, Eliya Cohen, and Ziv Cohen.

During the Selichot prayers, the rabbi and survivors jointly recited a thanksgiving prayer marking their return home. Participants also prayed for the safety of IDF soldiers and security personnel, for national unity, and for peace and security in Israel. This gathering is part of the annual Selichot events held throughout the month of Elul at the Western Wall, which attract large crowds from across the country.

The next central Selichot assembly at the Western Wall is scheduled for Thursday night, August 27, at 12:15 a.m., and is expected to draw thousands of worshippers.
