Thousands Join Special Selichot Prayer at Western Wall with Israeli POW Survivors

On Saturday night, thousands gathered at the Western Wall plaza in Jerusalem for the central Selichot prayer event, which featured the participation of Israeli prisoners of war survivors. Among those present were notable figures including Noa Argamani, Itay Regev, Omer Shem Tov, Bar Kuperstein, and Eli-H Cohen with his wife Ziv Cohen. The prayer was led by Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitch, the Rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Sites, who, together with the survivors and the assembled crowd, recited a special thanksgiving prayer marking the return of the POWs.

The event also included prayers for the safety of IDF soldiers and security forces, for national unity, and for the peace and security of Israel. Mordechai (Soli) Eliav, CEO of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation, was also in attendance alongside the large crowd. The next central Selichot prayer gathering at the Western Wall is scheduled for Thursday night, August 27, at 12:15 a.m., and is expected to draw thousands of worshippers once again.
