Israel Says It Killed Hamas Gaza City Brigade Deputy in Northern Gaza Strike
The IDF and Shin Bet say they killed Imad Hassan Hussein Asalim in a precise strike in northern Gaza. According to the military, Asalim was Hamas’s deputy commander of the Gaza City Brigade and the commander of the Zeitoun Battalion in the group’s military wing.
The statement says Asalim was responsible for directing battalion fighters during raids into Israeli territory in the October 7 massacre. It also says he advanced dozens of terror plots against IDF forces inside the Strip.
Another senior Hamas commander was also present at the targeted site, the report said, and the results of that additional killing are still being checked.
