IDF and Shin Bet Kill Hamas Military Commander in Southern Gaza Strike
The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet announced that Adel Jihad Muhammad Asfour, a Hamas military wing platoon commander, was killed in an airstrike in southern Gaza yesterday. Asfour was involved in planting explosives targeting Israeli forces throughout the ongoing conflict. Recently, he had been working to restore Hamas's operational capabilities while continuing to orchestrate immediate terror attacks against IDF troops in the area. The IDF Southern Command stated that Asfour posed a direct threat to Israeli forces operating in Gaza and confirmed his elimination in the strike. Israeli forces remain deployed in the region under existing agreements and will continue efforts to neutralize any immediate threats.
