IDF and Shin Bet Eliminate Hamas Military Commander in Southern Gaza Airstrike
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet carried out an airstrike yesterday in southern Gaza that killed Adel Jihad Muhammad Atfour, a Hamas military wing platoon commander. Throughout the ongoing conflict, Atfour was responsible for orchestrating sniper attacks and planting explosives targeting Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip. Recently, he had been working to rebuild Hamas's operational capabilities and was planning additional terror attacks. According to a joint statement from the IDF and Shin Bet, Atfour posed an immediate threat to Israeli troops operating in the area.
