About 7,300 tickets sold for the first Tel Aviv derby final
The Israeli Basketball Premier League final between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv begins on Tuesday, with Maccabi hosting game 1 and holding home-court advantage. The series opens at the height of the season, and Maccabi will try to make the most of that edge despite a string of injuries.
As of Monday, about 7,300 tickets had been sold for the game. Roughly 3,000 more were still available for Maccabi fans, while Hapoel supporters had already bought all 1,000 tickets allocated to them. That means the crowd is expected to be overwhelmingly yellow, with Maccabi fans filling most of the arena.
Ticket sales slowed temporarily on Sunday because of restrictions tied to Home Front Command instructions. Once those restrictions were lifted, officials expected sales to pick up again ahead of tipoff.
