50,000 Attend Selichot Prayers at Western Wall with Hostages' Survivors and Foreign Minister
Approximately 50,000 people gathered at the Western Wall for the second Selichot prayer event, offering prayers for the safety of Israeli soldiers and national security. The event featured the participation of Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar, hostages' survivors Bar Kuperstein and Agam Berger, as well as wounded IDF soldiers and thousands of worshippers. Since the beginning of the Hebrew month of Elul, over 150,000 worshippers have taken part in Selichot prayers held throughout the past week at the Western Wall plaza.
During the event, Rabbi Shmuel Rabinovitch, the Rabbi of the Western Wall and Holy Sites, led the crowd in heartfelt prayers for the wellbeing of IDF soldiers and security forces, as well as for unity and the security of Israel. The next major Selichot gathering is scheduled for Saturday night, August 22, at 12:15 a.m., and is expected to draw thousands of worshippers once again.
