Channel 14 to Broadcast Selichot Prayers Live from Western Wall Every Evening Starting Saturday

Starting Saturday night, Channel 14 will broadcast the Selichot prayer services live each evening from the Western Wall plaza in Jerusalem. This initiative coincides with the beginning of the Hebrew month of Elul and the approach of the High Holy Days, allowing viewers in Israel and worldwide to participate remotely in these significant prayers. The broadcasts will be accessible not only on Channel 14 but also across all C14 platforms, including their website, app, and YouTube channel.

The first Selichot event of the year 5786 will take place on the night of August 15 at 12:15 AM. Throughout Elul, the Ten Days of Repentance, and the eve of Yom Kippur, a total of 19 major Selichot sessions are scheduled at the Western Wall, attracting thousands of worshippers. The Western Wall Heritage Foundation has prepared to accommodate hundreds of thousands of visitors during this period.

At the main prayer events, sound systems and large screens will be installed around the plaza, and leading cantors will lead the prayers. This year, the Selichot services will also include special prayers for the salvation of the people of Israel, national unity, and the safety of the Israeli security forces. The Foundation emphasized that these traditional Selichot gatherings have become unifying moments for worshippers from all sectors of Israeli society and are now made accessible to everyone through live broadcasts.
