Yarin Levi Signs New Contract, Returns to Maccabi Haifa with Ambition

Maccabi Haifa officially announced the new contract of midfielder Yarin Levi, who signed the deal last week. Levi secured a 40 percent salary increase and agreed to remove his exit clause until next summer. The contract extends for two years with an option for an additional two, potentially keeping him at the club until 2030.

Levi expressed his excitement about returning to Maccabi Haifa, where he grew up as a player, calling the comeback emotional and meaningful. He said he sacrificed a lot to be at the club, motivated by a strong desire to succeed, contribute to the team, and please the fans. Previously, Levi received a gentleman's agreement from club owner Yaakov Shahar that he would not be blocked from leaving if a suitable offer arrived, but Levi emphasized he never wanted to leave and would not have signed a new contract last season if he intended to depart.

Levi joined Maccabi Haifa's youth system from Hapoel Be'er Sheva at age 14. He made his senior debut in August 2023 during the Toto Cup and was loaned to Beitar Jerusalem less than a year later. In his first season in Jerusalem, he was named the Israeli Premier League's breakthrough player and earned a spot on the national team. In his second season, he solidified his status as one of the league's top midfielders. Levi left Beitar with one goal and two assists in 60 league matches and has returned to Maccabi Haifa as a key central midfielder.
