Body Found in Tiberias Forest Confirmed as Missing Man Nachman Keinan

After ten days of searching, the body of 24-year-old Nachman Keinan from Beit Shemesh was found in the Switzerland Forest near Tiberias. Keinan had gone missing after being last seen near the Sea of Galilee while on his way to Safed, carrying a black backpack and a brown tefillin bag. His family, police, and volunteers had been searching extensively since his disappearance.

Keinan's brother, Daniel, revealed that recent investigation of surveillance footage showed Nachman entering and exiting the tomb of Rabbi Meir Baal Haness, but his movements afterward were unclear. Cell phone tracking indicated Keinan reached Tiberias, and he sent a message to his mother on Monday saying his phone battery was dead and asking her not to worry. Contact was lost after that.

The search involved police, volunteers, drone teams, tracking dogs, and missing persons units combing areas in Tiberias and Beit Shemesh. At 13:40 on Thursday, ZAKA volunteers were alerted to a body found in the Switzerland Forest area. Identification confirmed it was Keinan, ending the search with a tragic conclusion. The family had called on the public to assist in the search, emphasizing the importance of every pair of eyes.

Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding his disappearance and death.
