Armenian National Team Winger Edgar Savikyan Linked to Hapoel Petah Tikva
Hapoel Petah Tikva is targeting Armenian winger Edgar Savikyan as a potential signing ahead of their Israeli Premier League season opener against Ironi Tiberias on Saturday. The 25-year-old currently plays for Hungarian club Ferencváros, where he is under contract until 2028. Savikyan was acquired by Ferencváros in January 2024 for 1.2 million euros and has spent the past two seasons on loan in the Russian Premier League with Lokomotiv Moscow and Akron Tolyatti.
Savikyan has made 55 appearances in the Russian top flight, scoring four goals and providing three assists. At Ferencváros, he has played 21 matches but has seen limited playing time this season. Developed in Levante's youth system, he made one La Liga appearance before moving abroad. Internationally, Savikyan represents Armenia, earning 21 caps and scoring twice.
Hapoel Petah Tikva coach Omer Peretz is actively seeking reinforcements in the transfer market, with Savikyan considered a valuable addition due to his experience and versatility on the wing. The club aims to strengthen its squad ahead of the new season kickoff this weekend.
