Pregnant Woman Dies at Soroka Hospital a Day After Fetal Death Confirmed
A woman in her 40s who was pregnant died on Monday at Soroka Medical Center in Beersheba due to a rare complication. She was admitted earlier that week after experiencing severe abdominal pain. Despite medical intervention, her condition worsened, leading to surgery. The fetus was found lifeless and removed a day before the woman’s death. The case has been reported to the Ministry of Health and is under investigation.
Separately, in January, an unusual and tragic incident occurred in Hadera where a fetus in early development was discovered inside a sewage pit of a residential building in the Givat Olga neighborhood. Residents had been dealing with persistent drainage problems and upon opening the main sewage pit cover, they found what appeared to be a human fetus at the bottom. Authorities and emergency medical services were immediately notified.
These incidents highlight rare and tragic medical and social events involving fetal deaths in Israel, prompting ongoing investigations and public health attention.
