IDF Strikes Hamas Police Station in Gaza Killing Senior Operatives
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet revealed new details on a rare strike against a police station in the northern Gaza Strip city of Daraj Tuffah on Wednesday. The attack targeted a gathering of militants operating from a civilian police station, where at least four Hamas military wing operatives and one member of the Popular Resistance Committees were present. According to the IDF, these militants were not engaged in regular police duties but used the station to plan terrorist activities against Israeli forces, violating international law by exploiting a civilian facility for military purposes.
Palestinian sources reported that several senior Hamas police officers were killed, including Abu Akram Jandia and Faten Al-Sakhar, the commander of the women’s police in Gaza City, along with other officers. The IDF has not yet confirmed the identities of the casualties. The strike in Daraj Tuffah occurred about 30 minutes after another operation in central Gaza, which eliminated a Hamas military commander involved in the October 7 attack on Israeli territory. The IDF said further information on the militant’s role in Hamas would be released later.
The IDF is still assessing the results of the police station strike and promised to provide additional details as investigations continue.
