Serial Scooter Thief Caught Red-Handed in Tel Aviv After Multiple Thefts

A 35-year-old Tel Aviv resident has been arrested for systematically stealing scooters across the city, causing distress among riders. The suspect allegedly stole three scooters between June and August 2026, including one belonging to a delivery worker during his shift. The first theft occurred on June 18 near a restaurant on Nahalat Yitzhak Street, followed by another on June 21 in the same area. The final incident took place on August 14, when police caught him riding a stolen Vespa on Allenby Street, just minutes after it was taken from near Gordon Pool by the beach.

Following his arrest, the suspect was taken to the Lev Tel Aviv police station for questioning. Investigators collected evidence linking him to all three thefts. The stolen scooters were recovered and returned to their owners. The Tel Aviv District Prosecution filed charges against the man for three counts of scooter theft and requested his detention until the conclusion of legal proceedings. His detention has been extended multiple times since his arrest.
