Police Investigate Elderly Man Robbery in Bnei Brak While Arrest Made for Stolen Motorcycle in Tel Aviv
On Tuesday afternoon, a driver passing through Zhabotinsky Street in Bnei Brak recorded and reported a robbery in progress involving an elderly man. According to the live footage and her call to the police emergency center (100), two suspects forced the elderly man to lie on the sidewalk and rifled through his bags and wallet, apparently stealing money before fleeing the scene. The police have launched an investigation into the incident, but the suspects have not yet been identified or apprehended.
Meanwhile, in Tel Aviv, police officers thwarted another property crime near the courthouse on Weizmann Street. They spotted a motorcycle believed to have been stolen shortly before and arrested a suspect in his twenties from Kafr Aqab as he attempted to flee on the vehicle. The suspect was taken into custody, and the motorcycle was returned to its owner. The police plan to request an extension of the suspect’s detention at the Tel Aviv Magistrate’s Court.
These two incidents, occurring within hours and only a few kilometers apart, highlight the ongoing challenges faced by law enforcement in combating property crimes in central Israel. Authorities continue their efforts to identify and capture those responsible for such offenses.
