Miki Zohar Says Israel Would Strike Iran Forcefully if Security Is Threatened
Minister Miki Zohar said in an interview with ynet that Israel’s only concern is whether Iran will obtain nuclear weapons, and he answered that it will not. He warned that if Israel concludes its security is in danger, it will hit Iran “with great force.”
Zohar said the response would be so severe that Iran would be forced not only to “go down on their knees” but to “bow their heads.” His remarks framed a possible Israeli strike as a direct response to any perceived nuclear or security threat from Tehran.
Asked about US President Donald Trump’s comments to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Zohar called them praise and said they were flattering. He argued that they showed Netanyahu is not acting according to Trump’s wishes, but is instead focused on Israel’s security.
“We have independence,” Zohar said, stressing that Israel makes its own decisions.
