Culture and Sports Minister Miki Zohar spoke about the U.S.-Iran agreement at the Local Government Convention, saying Washington is handling the Iranian issue poorly. He argued that the Americans do not understand who they are dealing with and warned that the United States could soon find itself in a confrontation with Israel.
Zohar said Israel will not automatically follow the U.S. line, and that any Israeli response will be shaped by Israel’s security interests. He added that military action will be determined by what best serves those interests, not by Washington’s position.
In his view, the U.S. deal will not solve the nuclear weapons problem. He also said he expects the war phase to return sooner than many people think.
