New Poll Shows Netanyahu's Likud Gains While Seven Parties Fail to Pass Threshold
A recent poll conducted by Direct Polls for i24NEWS, led by Zuriel Sharon, reveals a strengthening trend among Israel's major political parties. The four leading parties each gained one seat compared to last week’s survey. Likud, led by Benjamin Netanyahu, rose from 30 to 31 seats following the conclusion of its primaries. The Yisrael Yesharim party, headed by Gadi Eizenkot, increased to 24 seats from 23. The Democrats party climbed to 11 seats from 10, and Naftali Bennett’s Yachad party grew to 9 seats from 8.
Conversely, several parties experienced losses. United Torah Judaism dropped one seat to 8, as did Yisrael Beiteinu under Avigdor Lieberman, now at 8 seats. Otzma Yehudit fell to 6 seats, and the Hadash-Ta'al faction decreased to 5 seats. Shas maintained 8 seats, while Religious Zionism and Ra'am each held steady at 5 seats.
Several parties failed to cross the electoral threshold, including Zehut led by Moshe Feiglin, Balad, Yaron Zelekha’s Economic Party, and the Beit Tzioni list headed by Hili Tropper and Yoaz Hendel. Others below the threshold with less than one percent of votes include Gilad Erdan’s Achdut, Blue and White, and Noam.
Regarding bloc distribution, the coalition bloc holds 58 seats, the opposition 52 seats, and the Arab parties retain 10 seats. This poll highlights the ongoing shifts in Israel’s political landscape ahead of upcoming elections.
