Israeli Cyber Police Arrest Ashkelon Resident for Malware Attacks on Dozens of Companies
Cyber detectives from the Lahav 433 cyber unit arrested a resident of Ashkelon suspected of infiltrating malware into dozens of Israeli companies. The suspect allegedly collected sensitive computer data and information from multiple businesses across Israel. After a complex undercover investigation, cyber investigators managed to identify the suspect despite significant challenges.
The arrest took place early in the morning, followed by searches at the suspect's home and several other companies. The suspect was interrogated under caution for offenses including computer crimes, illegal wiretapping, privacy violations, and additional charges.
Following the interrogation, the suspect was brought before the Rishon Lezion Magistrate's Court, where his detention was extended until August 23, 2026. The court also prohibited publishing the suspect's name at the defense attorney's request. The police released footage showing the moments of the arrest.
