Germany routs Curaçao as late goals decide two other international friendlies

Football fans were treated to a wild night of goals and late drama, with Germany overwhelming Curaçao, Japan and the Netherlands drawing 2-2 in a thriller, and Ivory Coast stealing a last-second win over Ecuador.

Germany produced the biggest result, crushing Curaçao 7-1 in a one-sided match. Thomas Muller opened the scoring in the 5th minute, Curaçao briefly equalized through Komenstia in the 20th, but Germany quickly took control again. Nico Schlotterbeck restored the lead in the 37th minute, Serge Gnabry made it 3-1 from the penalty spot just before halftime in the 49th, and Jamal Musiala added a fourth in the 48th. Julian Brandt scored in the 67th minute, Robert Andrich made it six in the 77th, and Gnabry completed his brace in the 87th.

In another tense match, the Netherlands and Japan finished level at 2-2 after a scoreless first half. Virgil van Dijk put the Dutch ahead in the 51st minute from a Ryan Gravenberch assist, but Kaito Nakamura equalized in the 57th after a pass from Takefusa Kubo. Crisencio Sumerville restored the Dutch lead seven minutes later, again assisted by Gravenberch, before Daichi Kamada rescued Japan in the 88th minute from a Koki Ogawa pass.

Ivory Coast then sealed the evening with a dramatic 1-0 victory over Ecuador in a physical, tactical match that seemed destined for a draw. Substitute Amad Diallo came off the bench in the 55th minute and scored in the 89:34 minute, converting a pass from Sinu to give the Elephants a late winner.
