Germany Crushes Curaçao 7-1 in World Cup Opener
Germany opened its World Cup campaign with a dominant 7-1 win over Curaçao in Houston. Felix Nmecha scored first in the 6th minute, but Curaçao briefly leveled through Livano Comenencia in the 21st minute, a historic goal for the team.
Germany then pulled away before halftime. Nico Schlotterbeck restored the lead in the 38th minute, and Kai Havertz converted a penalty in first-half stoppage time to make it 3-1.
The second half brought more pressure and more goals. Jamal Musiala scored in the 47th minute, Nathaniel Brown added another in the 68th, Deniz Undav found the net in the 78th, and Havertz completed his brace in the 88th minute to seal the rout.
