Maccabi Tel Aviv Considers Signing Rakow Winger Michael Ameyaw to Strengthen Squad

Maccabi Tel Aviv is exploring the possibility of signing Michael Ameyaw, a 25-year-old right winger from Polish club Rakow, as part of their efforts to reinforce the team. The club had previously attempted to acquire players from Rakow during the past month but found the financial gaps too large. Ameyaw, who joined Rakow in summer 2024 after they triggered his release clause from Piast Gliwice for one million euros, is now back on Maccabi Tel Aviv's radar alongside other candidates such as Thibo Baeten from Dutch side Go Ahead Eagles.

Last season, Ameyaw scored three goals and provided eight assists across all competitions. This season, he has scored once in the Conference League qualifiers but has only one goal and no assists in 501 minutes of play overall. His market value is estimated at 1.5 million euros, and he has made two appearances for Poland's U21 national team.

Maccabi Tel Aviv CEO Jack Enligidis acknowledged ongoing behind-the-scenes work to improve the squad, stating on Saturday, "There is a lot of work we started even before last season to make changes and improvements. Not everything is visible, but things are happening, and I am confident it will happen, and as soon as possible. There are many issues to address, and we believe solutions will be found eventually."
