According to a source familiar with the meeting who spoke to Axios, the discussion was described as "very productive" and aimed at ensuring practical steps on the ground. Kushner emphasized the high standards required due to Israeli distrust and made clear that disarmament is non-negotiable. He also promised that if Hamas demonstrates concrete actions, the United States would ensure Israel honors its commitments.

Hamas leaders expressed frustration over ongoing Israeli attacks, to which Kushner responded by noting it took four months for Hamas to agree to the disarmament process. On the civilian front, Hamas pledged to transfer control of Gaza to a technocratic Palestinian government once it begins operating there and assured it would not interfere with its work. Kushner thanked Hamas for cooperating in the return of Israeli captives' bodies, while Hamas leaders expressed gratitude to the Trump administration and the peace council for humanitarian aid.

In the same regional diplomatic efforts, Kushner met with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, who stressed that stabilizing Gaza is crucial for the broader regional stability. Kushner also held separate talks with members of the Palestinian technocratic government.
