Jared Kushner Plans Hamas Meeting After Israel Visit to Advance Gaza Peace Plan
Jared Kushner, the US President Donald Trump's envoy and son-in-law, is expected to meet with Hamas representatives this week, according to a report by Emirati channel Al-Arabiya. The meeting will reportedly include mediators from Egypt, Turkey, and Qatar. Kushner is scheduled to visit Israel to promote a peace framework for the Gaza Strip before continuing to other Middle Eastern meetings.
Earlier on Sunday, Egyptian intelligence chief Hassan Rashad met in Cairo with a Hamas delegation led by Khalil al-Hayya, head of Hamas's political bureau. Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem stated that these talks with Egyptian mediators are part of ongoing diplomatic efforts to inform them about Israeli violations and to pressure Israel to adhere to the peace roadmap agreed upon with the peace council.
On Friday, Reuters reported that Kushner's visit to Israel aims to conduct a series of meetings across the Middle East to advance a 15-point plan for Gaza. Additionally, AFP cited senior American officials saying the US and Israel agree on the desired outcome in Gaza and share many agreements and concerns, which they intend to address collaboratively.
