Israeli Runners Achieve Seasonal Bests in 10,000m at European Athletics Championships
At the European Athletics Championships on August 15, Israeli athletes Darja Chkola and Zmano Motcha competed in the 10,000-meter race, finishing 14th and 19th respectively. Chkola set her season's best time of 28:31.28 minutes, while Motcha also recorded a personal season best with 29:26.22 minutes. The championships will conclude tomorrow with the men's and women's marathon events. Israeli female marathon runners Maor Tiuri, Selamawit Teferi, and Mentamar Bikaya are scheduled to compete, alongside male marathoners Maru Teferi, Tadesse Getahon, Bokayo Melka, Eymeru Almeya, Gashaw Ayala, and Vitayo Abohay. The Israeli men's team aims to defend their European team title, having won gold in the 2025 European Road Running Championships held in Galia.
