Israeli Runners Set Seasonal Bests in 10,000m at European Athletics Championships
At the European Athletics Championships on August 15, Israeli athletes Darja Chkola and Zamno Motcha competed in the 10,000-meter race, finishing 14th and 19th respectively. Chkola recorded a season-best time of 28:31.28 minutes, while Motcha also achieved his season-best with 29:26.22 minutes. The championships continue with the final day featuring the men's and women's marathon events. Israeli female marathon runners Maor Tiuri, Selamawit Teferi, and Mentamar Bikaya are set to compete, alongside male marathoners Maru Teferi, Tedesa Getahon, Bokayo Melda, Eymeru Almeya, Gashaw Ayele, and Vitayo Abohay. The men's team aims to defend their European team title, having won gold at the 2025 European Road Running Championships in Galicia.
