Adva Cohen Finishes 10th in 3000m Steeplechase at European Championships

Israeli athlete Adva Cohen placed tenth in the 3000-meter steeplechase at the European Athletics Championships, completing the race in 9:38.21. This marked her fourth final appearance at the senior European Championships. Cohen described her performance as an improvement over the heats, noting she felt more focused and competitive, and expressed satisfaction with finishing in the top 10 despite not running with the lead pack.

Earlier in the day, Israel's new national champion Gal Ard competed in the 200-meter heats at his first senior European Championships. Ard finished tied for 13th place overall with Turkish athlete Deniz Can Kartel. The race officials reviewed the times to determine who would advance to the semifinals, with Ard clocking 21.019 seconds and Kartel 21.012 seconds. The Turkish sprinter advanced by a margin of just seven thousandths of a second, narrowly edging out Ard.

Both athletes represented Israel in highly competitive events, with Cohen reaching the final and Ard narrowly missing progression to the next round in his debut at this level.
