Adva Cohen Finishes 10th in 3000m Steeplechase at European Championships

Israeli athlete Adva Cohen placed tenth in the 3000-meter steeplechase at the European Athletics Championships, completing the race in 9:38.21 minutes. This marked her fourth career final at the senior European Championships. Cohen described her performance as an improvement over the heats, stating she arrived more focused and competitive, and although she felt ready to run faster with the lead pack, she was pleased to finish in the top 10.

Earlier in the day, Israel's new national champion Gal Ard competed in the 200-meter heats at his first senior European Championships. Ard tied for 13th place overall with Turkey's Deniz Can Kartel. The race officials reviewed their times to determine who would advance to the semifinals, with Ard clocking 21.019 seconds and Kartel 21.012 seconds. Kartel advanced by a margin of just seven thousandths of a second, narrowly edging out Ard.

Both athletes demonstrated strong performances representing Israel at the continental competition, with Cohen reaching the final and Ard narrowly missing the semifinal stage.
