Granddaughter of Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Dies at Age 5 After Long Illness

Ruchama Chana Cohen, the 5-year-old granddaughter of Rabbi Tzvika Cohen, Deputy and Acting Mayor of Jerusalem and chairman of Shas in the city, passed away after battling a severe illness for a year and a half. She was born to Rabbi Avraham Yeshayahu Cohen, son of Rabbi Tzvika Cohen, and his wife Chaya Sarah. The family received the tragic news in Brooklyn, USA, on Friday evening. Throughout her illness, many prayed for her recovery, including a major prayer event at the Western Wall. Rabbi Tzvika Cohen traveled to the United States to say goodbye to his granddaughter. Her coffin is expected to be brought to Israel, where the funeral and burial will take place. The family expressed the traditional Jewish mourning phrase, "May her soul be bound up in the bond of life."
