Israeli Forces Arrest Terror Cell in Jenin Before Planned Attack at West Bank Ceremony

Israeli security forces thwarted a terror cell in Jenin overnight that allegedly planned to carry out an attack this morning at the inauguration ceremony of the settlement Ganim in northern Samaria. The event was attended by Defense Minister Israel Katz, Shomron Regional Council head Yossi Dagan, Minister Shlomo Karhi, and Knesset member Yuli Edelstein.

The dramatic arrests took place in three separate buildings in Jenin where the three suspects were hiding. Israeli forces surprised the militants while they were silent and managed to detain them without resistance. The operation was overseen by senior commanders including Border Police Chief Brigadier General Yitzhak Barak, Judea and Samaria Border Police Commander Superintendent Nisso Gueta, and the Yamam counterterrorism unit commander.

Earlier reports confirmed that Yamam forces raided Jenin and arrested the three terrorists who were preparing to launch an imminent attack. The prevention of this attack occurred just hours before the planned ceremony, highlighting the ongoing security challenges in the West Bank.
