Roy did not travel due to a mental state issue and a pending transfer offer from Spanish club Elche. Haim Revivo emphasized that Roy was honest and "manly" in communicating his condition, rejecting claims of a strike or contract breach, stating the decision was mutual and respectful.

Revivo acknowledged Roy's importance to Maccabi Tel Aviv but criticized the club's reliance on him and Dor Peretz as key players, given Roy's desire to leave since last season. He argued that football clubs belong to their fans, not owners or players, and highlighted that Maccabi prepared for a mid-table finish this season, similar to last year when they lacked several key players.

Responding to criticism from panelist Motti Ivanir, Revivo maintained that Roy was frustrated last season when prevented from transferring but still gave his all to the club, which he considers his home. He expressed disappointment over the 3-0 loss and noted that had the club agreed to Roy's transfer immediately after the match, it would have happened.
