Historian Criticizes Netanyahu Over West Bank Incident Amid US Backlash
Dr. Kobi Berda, an expert on American politics, commented on the recent turmoil in the West Bank village of Khasra during a 103FM radio interview. He stated that the Netanyahu of a few years ago would not have allowed such events to unfold, expressing uncertainty about the current prime minister's mindset but certainty that Netanyahu understands the implications of engaging in these conversations.
Berda also shared on Twitter that he received a shocked call from a senior White House official who described the images from the West Bank as causing a "seismic shock." This official, supportive of Israel, suggested that the youth involved in the clashes might achieve what peace activists have not in 50 years.
Following these developments, US Ambassador to Israel Mike Herzog tweeted that the US Embassy in Jerusalem is deeply involved and that the Israel Defense Forces and Israeli police acted at the embassy's request to remove Israeli terrorists responsible for the disturbances. Herzog condemned the perpetrators' actions as criminal, horrifying, and intended to intimidate and harass a family, calling the behavior disgusting and unjustifiable.
