Clashes and Political Pressure Surround Israeli Real Estate Fair in London

Organizers and leaders of the Jewish community said they faced threats and attempts to impose sanctions on synagogues that agreed to host the conference.

Live footage from the protest area showed large London police forces deployed near the venue in an effort to prevent violent clashes between supporters of Israel and pro-Palestinian protesters who were demonstrating against the fair. According to the organizers, the event also included a Channel 7 conference focused on the importance of aliyah to Israel at this time.

The organizers said that in recent days, intense pressure was applied on British parliamentary officials and London police to block the conference, including contacts from political figures opposed to the event.
