Northern Israeli Couple Arrested After Woman Throws Gun During Police Checkpoint Escape Attempt

The Haifa District Prosecutor's Office has filed charges against a 29-year-old man from Baneh in the Beit Kerem Valley, following an incident at a police checkpoint. The couple was stopped near a checkpoint after passing through Carmiel on Route 85. Suspicious of their behavior, officers noticed ammunition inside their vehicle. When confronted, the man assaulted a police officer and instructed his wife to flee and discard a firearm. The woman then drove off recklessly alone and threw a loaded FN pistol from the car. The investigation against the woman is ongoing.
