Bank Leumi announced a record profit for the second quarter, reaching 2.83 billion shekels, marking an 8.5% increase compared to the same quarter last year. The bank's return on equity stood at 16.3%, slightly up from 16.2% in the previous year. Excluding the impact of the special tax imposed on banks, the net profit for the quarter would have been approximately 3.1 billion shekels, with a return on equity of 17.9%. Following these results, the bank's board approved a dividend distribution totaling 50% of the quarterly net profit, amounting to 1.4 billion shekels.
