Nova Tribe Community Distributes 850 Backpacks to Southern Massacre Survivors' Children

Ahead of the new school year, the Nova Tribe Community is launching a broad initiative to distribute approximately 850 new, fully equipped backpacks to children of survivors from the southern massacres and bereaved families connected to the October 7 events. These backpacks, tailored to various age groups from kindergarten to high school, include essential school supplies such as pencil cases, pencils, writing tools, and notebooks. The distribution will take place throughout August at six central locations across Israel, ranging from Beersheba in the south to Nahalal in the north.

This effort is part of the community association’s ongoing support for survivors and bereaved families, assisting them in their rehabilitation and gradual return to normal life. Beyond emotional and communal support, the association addresses practical daily needs, recognizing the significant financial burden that the start of the school year imposes, especially on families coping with the aftermath of the October 7 attacks.

Yuval Bagan, chair of the Nova Tribe Community association, emphasized that the backpack distribution aims to ease these expenses, provide children with age-appropriate new supplies, and foster a sense of community continuity and belonging. The association was established in response to the October 7 events and continues to offer comprehensive support including mental resilience, social accompaniment, employment reintegration, and community initiatives. The backpack distribution complements the association’s philosophy that true rehabilitation is a long-term process requiring ongoing presence, attentive listening, and tailored responses to the evolving needs of survivors and their families.
