Netanyahu highlighted the historical and strategic importance of the Golan region, referencing ancient Jewish heritage and emphasizing its vital role in Israel's security. He praised the recognition as a significant diplomatic step following former U.S. President Trump's earlier acknowledgment.

Throughout the video, Netanyahu repeatedly said, "The people are with Colombia," but notably did not mention the devastating earthquake that struck Colombia the previous day. The 7.4 magnitude quake occurred on August 10 at 07:34 local time near San José del Palmar in Chocó province. It lasted about four minutes and caused severe damage across western Colombian cities including Cali, Armenia, Pereira, and Manizales, with tremors felt as far as the capital, Bogotá.

Colombian President Abelardo de la Espriella later addressed the nation, reporting at least 111 fatalities, 87 injuries, and numerous collapsed buildings. The city of Pereira suffered the heaviest losses, with dozens dead and many trapped under rubble, according to Mayor Mauricio Celsar. Additional casualties were confirmed in nearby Manizales by Mayor Jorge Eduardo Rojas. The earthquake also damaged several airports in the country.

Netanyahu's video focused solely on diplomatic matters and did not acknowledge the natural disaster affecting Colombia, drawing criticism on social media for the omission. The earthquake remains a major humanitarian crisis as rescue efforts continue.
