Likud Reserves Spot for Oren Dobrovsky to Counter Gantz and Broaden Appeal

MK Ariel Kallner praised the decision to reserve a spot for Oren Dobrovsky on the Likud party list, stating the move will strengthen the party and attract new voter segments. Kallner addressed speculation that Dobrovsky's reservation was a response to internal party activists creating a problematic image for Likud. While acknowledging some interest-driven factions within the party, he suggested the main reason for the reservation was to counter misinformation spread by Benny Gantz, the former IDF Chief of Staff and political rival. Kallner explained that the party fears some voters might be swayed by Gantz's narratives, and Dobrovsky's inclusion aims to protect these potential supporters.

This development follows a recent wave of reserved spots on the Likud list, which some analysts interpret as an effort to moderate the party's image. Dobrovsky's recruitment appears aligned with this strategy, aiming to present a more diverse and appealing front ahead of upcoming elections.
