Israeli Reality TV Star Faces Gun License Restrictions Despite Cleared Abuse Allegations

Israeli reality TV personality Israel Deutsch revealed in an interview with C14 that his gun license has been restricted following a complaint by his ex-wife, which was ultimately closed due to lack of guilt. Deutsch, known from the show "Wert," explained that during his previous divorce proceedings, he was investigated on suspicions of violence and violating a legal order. Initially, the case was closed due to insufficient evidence, but after legal efforts, the closure reason was changed to lack of guilt. Despite this, he remains unable to carry a handgun for his security work.

Deutsch described the impact of the investigation on his professional life, noting that his main occupation in security has been severely affected since he lost the right to carry a pistol. He highlighted the contradiction that while he is allowed to carry long firearms in his military reserve duties and local security unit, he is denied a handgun for his civilian job. Deutsch criticized the licensing authorities for waiting on police recommendations, despite the police themselves having authorized him to carry long guns.

Beyond his personal case, Deutsch now works as a mental coach for divorced men and others in second chapters of their lives, hearing numerous stories of men who lost jobs and livelihoods due to false accusations during marital conflicts. He emphasized the difference between verbal disputes and physical violence and stressed that not all men accused are guilty. Deutsch is actively seeking to bring his case to the attention of National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, aiming to raise awareness about what he describes as a widespread issue affecting many men.

As of now, the Ministry of National Security has not responded to requests for comment regarding Deutsch's situation.
