Father and Son from Zemer Arrested Over Guns and Ammunition

A father and son from Zemer in central Israel were arrested over the weekend on suspicion of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition. Security forces say they found two pistols, gun parts and a large quantity of live ammunition at a compound where the pair had been staying.

The operation began after troops stationed at a base in central Israel heard gunfire coming from the area of the local council of Zemer. Their commander ordered wide-area searches to locate the source of the shooting.

During the sweep, forces spotted two scooters and a private car driving in a way that aroused suspicion. With assistance from National Guard fighters of the Border Police, they began tracking the vehicles and the suspects.

The surveillance led them to a specific compound, where officers carried out a thorough search and uncovered the weapons and ammunition. The two suspects were arrested and transferred for further questioning.
