Jewish Teen Attacked in Florida Starbucks in Suspected Antisemitic Assault

An 18-year-old Jewish man was violently attacked at a Starbucks in North Miami Beach, Florida, by a 43-year-old woman suspected of antisemitic motives. According to the victim's testimony to police and local media, the woman, identified as Chevonne Juanita Palmer, approached him without provocation, verbally abused him, and struck him on the head and shoulder with her cellphone. After briefly leaving the scene, Palmer returned wielding a metal chair, which she swung at the young man while shouting "I hate them," continuing her aggressive behavior.

The situation was defused when two bystanders intervened, removing Palmer and helping the victim seek refuge inside the Starbucks until police arrived. Authorities arrested Palmer and charged her with aggravated assault, bias-motivated assault, and disorderly conduct in a public place. She was released on bail with restrictive conditions pending further legal proceedings.

This incident adds to a recent surge of antisemitic attacks in the United States, raising concerns among Jewish communities about increasing violence and hate crimes targeting them.
