Israeli Electricity Company Employees Suspected in Multi-Million Shekel Fraud Case

A covert investigation uncovered suspicions of a nearly 5 million shekel fraud involving employees at Israel's Electricity Company. The Haifa District Fraud Unit arrested a key suspect, a resident of Manda, who allegedly collaborated with other company workers to unlawfully pay electricity debts on behalf of others, thereby gaining financial benefits. The investigation began several months ago and recently moved from a covert to an overt phase, leading to multiple arrests connected to the case. The Haifa court extended the main suspect's detention by four additional days to allow further inquiry. The Electricity Company stated that its security division detected the suspected embezzlement, conducted the undercover investigation, and handed over all findings to the police, cooperating fully throughout the process.
