Netanyahu Holds Regular Security and Political Forums with Senior Officials for Election Strategy
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been convening two advisory forums frequently, one focused on security and the other on political strategy, according to a report by Kan News on Monday evening. Netanyahu uses these forums to update members on his messages and solicit their opinions.
The security forum includes senior reserve officers Effi Eitam, Hazi Nechama, Erez Wiener, and Yiftach Ron Tal, meeting approximately every one to two weeks. The political forum, which is newer and concentrates on campaign strategy for the upcoming elections, meets via phone calls and in-person roughly every week and a half. Members of this forum include Justice Minister Yariv Levin, Coalition Chairman Ofir Katz, Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Shikli, and Energy Minister Eli Cohen.
These forums represent Netanyahu’s approach to maintaining close consultation with key military and political figures as he prepares for the election campaign. The report also briefly mentions related political developments, including a rejected petition concerning Yair Golan and a decision that Likud MKs will not run in primaries in their districts.
