Naftali Bennett Praises Trump’s Israel Record on His 80th Birthday
Former Israeli prime minister Naftali Bennett posted a warm public birthday message on X on Sunday for Donald Trump’s 80th birthday. In the post, Bennett praised Trump’s record on Israel, saying the former US president had taken historic steps that changed the region and strengthened Israel’s standing.
Bennett highlighted two major decisions in particular, Trump’s move of the US embassy to Jerusalem and his recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights. He also framed the greeting as coming from the people of Israel, writing, “Happy birthday Donald Trump! The people of Israel stand together today to wish President Donald Trump a historic 80th birthday.”
Bennett went on to say Trump’s leadership “carved an unforgettable chapter in the history of our nation.” He added, “You stood firmly with us in our darkest hours, fought for the return of our hostages, recognized our sovereignty over the Golan Heights, and courageously made Jerusalem, our eternal capital, the proud home of the American embassy. Congratulations!”
Notably, Bennett did not mention Iran or the emerging US-Iran agreement, despite the topic’s political sensitivity. His message focused instead on territorial issues, symbols of sovereignty, and the hostages, leaving the Iran file out of the celebratory post.
