Four Firefighting Planes Deployed to Combat Blaze Near Kerem Hamami Farm in Gush Etzion

A fast-moving wildfire is threatening the Kerem Hamami farm in the Gush Etzion area due to dry conditions and strong winds. Firefighters and volunteers from the Judea Regional Fire Station are actively working to contain the fire, which started between the settlement of Merom Yehuda and the farm. Initial reports indicated a wide fire front advancing toward the farm, prompting urgent firefighting efforts.

After an hour of ground firefighting and a situation assessment, four firefighting planes from the Elad Squadron were dispatched to assist in stopping the fire's spread. Ground teams are also preparing defensive lines using firefighting vehicles and support from farmers at nearby farms. The terrain's complexity is hindering ground operations, according to incident commander Lieutenant Daniel Mizrahi, who emphasized the fire's rapid movement uphill toward the farm.

In parallel, another fire broke out near Road 60 close to the settlement of Efrat, indicating multiple fire incidents in the region. Firefighting forces remain on high alert to prevent further damage and protect local communities and agricultural assets.
