Peace Council Says Israel Complies with 15-Point Agreement Despite Netanyahu's Rejection

Senior officials from the Trump Peace Council expressed skepticism about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's public rejection of the 15-point agreement, emphasizing that actions on the ground matter more than statements. They told ynet that Israel has effectively ceased targeted killings and is maintaining the ceasefire. According to the council, despite Netanyahu's declared stance, Israel is actually adhering to the agreement's terms. They noted that the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) are positioned along the original "yellow line," controlling 53% of the Gaza Strip, with no forces beyond that boundary, thus complying with the 15-point document.

The council added that it would be preferable if Israel's official statements aligned with its actions, which would grant Israel a diplomatic advantage for fulfilling the agreement. Netanyahu recently reiterated Israel's rejection of the 15-point document, stating that the IDF will not withdraw until Hamas is fully disarmed. He clarified that "disarming Hamas" means a complete dismantling of all weapons, heavy and light, not a partial or symbolic disarmament. Netanyahu also mentioned ongoing discussions with the United States on this issue, acknowledging some ideas are acceptable and others are not, asserting Israel's firm stance. He affirmed that the IDF will continue to thwart threats against Israeli forces and civilians.
