Grenade Explodes in Holon Building Amid Rising Criminal Violence in Israel

A grenade exploded inside a residential building on Tzvi Tadmor Street in Holon late Monday night, causing damage but no injuries. Residents described a loud blast that shook the entire building, with one neighbor recalling the fear and confusion at the moment of the explosion. Police bomb disposal and forensic teams arrived at the scene to collect evidence. This building had previously been targeted by a grenade attack about a year and a half ago.

Simultaneously, unexploded grenades were found near a gas station in Hadera and in northern Tel Aviv. Police confirmed the incidents are likely linked to criminal activity and deployed bomb squads to neutralize the devices. Last week, a grenade was thrown at a high-rise in the Park Tzameret neighborhood of northern Tel Aviv, causing damage heard across the area, including Ramat Gan. Another grenade was thrown at a soon-to-open Rami Levy Stock branch in Ramla, prompting an ongoing police investigation.

These attacks are part of a recent surge in violence involving grenades, shootings, and arson attempts targeting various locations, including multiple branches of the "Jpannika" sushi restaurant chain. Authorities believe these incidents stem from conflicts between criminal organizations. The escalation has even led the U.S. Embassy to issue an unusual warning to American citizens in Israel.
