Avigdor Lieberman Urges Opposition Unity Ahead of Israeli Elections

Avigdor Lieberman, chairman of the Yisrael Beiteinu party, called on opposition leaders to calm internal tensions and focus on their primary goal ahead of the upcoming elections, scheduled in about two and a half months. He emphasized that there will be no alliances or conflicts within the opposition, stating, "We are all mature people who know how to make decisions with judgment and responsibility. Therefore, the day after the elections, we will know how to get along with each other."

Lieberman outlined two key principles that must guide the opposition camp: first, the main objective is to replace the coalition he described as "the alliance of Goldknopf, Deri, and Netanyahu"; second, to avoid falling into Netanyahu's trap of distracting from the core issues. He accused Netanyahu of trying to divert attention from his responsibility for the October 7 massacre, his failure to decisively win on any front, three years of a war of attrition, loss of governance, rampant crime in Israeli streets, strategic failures against the new Sunni alliance of Pakistan, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, and the failure in relations with the United States, which recently approved uranium enrichment on Saudi soil and the supply of F-35 fighter jets to Turkey.

Lieberman concluded with a direct appeal to his opposition partners to focus on the main goal and stop internal campaigns and briefings against each other. In related news, a senior figure has joined the party of ministers Gilad Erdan and Yariv Adelstein, signaling further consolidation within the opposition camp.
